Donald Trump mocked Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris for trying to break the glass ceiling in US politics.

The president joked about the efforts of Ms Clinton and Ms Harris to become the highest ever elected women in the country’s history during his latest campaign rally.

Mr Trump beat Ms Clinton in the presidential election in 2016 and Ms Harris would be the first female vice president if she and Joe Biden secure the White House next month.

The president disparaged both women to cheering supporters at the Make America Great Again event in Greenville, North Carolina, on Thursday.

“They talked about the glass ceiling, and a woman breaking the glass ceiling and it didn’t work out that way, the glass ceiling broker her,” said Mr trump about Ms Clinton.

“There will be a woman who breaks the glass ceiling it just wont be Hillary.

“And you know who else it wont be? It wont be Kamala, it wont be Kamala.”

Mr Trump then told the crowd he was ‘very concerned’ about Ms Harris after news broke that two of her travel party had tested positive for coronavirus.

“We worry about her, I am very concerned for her as we just heard that to of the people that travel with her in the plane, with her all the time, have tested positive for Covid-19,” he said.

“We send our best wishes, right? right? yes? We extend our best wishes which is more than they did for me but that is okay, lets see what happens.”

The Biden campaign has cancelled travel plans for Ms Harris until Sunday after the positive tests for her communications director, Liz Allen, and a flight crew member.

Ms Harris has taken two tests since 8 October and they have both come back negative, the campaign stated.
