Ontario Premier Doug Ford left some members of his constituency wondering what he meant by an ambiguous Twitter post on Tuesday, asking people to stay tuned while closing the message with #cheesecake.

It turns out there was no ulterior motive or messaging, as Ford merely was excited to share his cherry cheesecake recipe with the rest of the province ahead of the upcoming long weekend.

Ford posted a two-minute video titled “Cooking With Doug” on Friday where he makes the dessert and shared the origin of the recipe.

“If I wasn’t premier, I would open up a cheesecake factory,” Ford said.

Ford, at times, has drawn praise from some of his toughest critics for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

His cheesecake recipe, however, was far more polarizing.

Forced to stay inside for the majority of the long weekend, making a cheesecake is a pretty good way to spend the time, but let’s hope your desserts draw less scrutiny than the Premier’s.
