Dr. Pimple Popper Pops A 'Mashed Potato' Cyst In A Brand New IG Video
Dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, a.k.a. Dr. Pimple Popper is a total pro when it comes to banishing cysts—and other gnarly growths.
Case in point: In this brand new IG vid, Dr. P tackles a particularly disturbing cyst on a patient's back. "This cute little cyst came out like mashed potatoes," said our good doctor.
But that's not all. As she fished for the sac, Dr. P noted that it looked like a "shower cap." Gross.
Dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, a.k.a. Dr. Pimple Popper's fans (a.k.a her Popaholics) can always expect a good food comparison when it comes to her cyst pops. From "Vidalia onions" to "garlic" cysts, she always brings it with food descriptions. But her most recent cyst pop is extra stomach-turning. Why? Well, she compared it to my favorite Thanksgiving staple: mashed potatoes, which by the way, I'm still making my way through post-holiday. (Plus, she also notes that the cyst's sac reminded her of a "shower cap.")
"This cute little cyst came out like mashed potatoes but that sac wall reminded me of a shower cap! What do you think? #drpimplepopper #cyst," she captioned the video.
The video starts with the patient's skin already sliced open and Dr. P is so ready to squeeze. First, she uses her gloved fingers to press down on the top and bottom of the cyst—and as she does, a thick and goopy stream of "mashed potatoes" comes spewing out. Gross!
"It's like mashed potatoes!" says Dr. P. "Is it really?" her patient responds.
"Mhmm, your sister's going to like that!" says Dr. P.
From there, Dr. P grabs a pair of tweezers and scissors to remove the sac, which she explains to her patient will prevent it from coming back. "Good, almost there," Dr. P says as she uses her tweezers to grab the sac, while simultaneously snipping it out in its entirety.
And her Popaholics are totally obsessed with this cyst removal—even if it does ruin their plans for enjoying some Thanksgiving leftovers: One Popaholic commented, "I was going to have some leftover mashed potatoes...but nevermind 😂." "Sac looks more like bubble gum to me," chimed an observant fan. And another wrote, "I'm so grossed out but I can't stop looking WHY?"
