Drake and Travis Scott's Newest Hot Releases Are…Shoes?

Hip-hop stars have spent the past decade or so moonlighting as red-hot footwear designers. Kanye West and Pharrell paved the way for a new crop of rappers—like Drake, Tyler the Creator, Travis Scott, and 2 Chainz—to make their mark on the worlds of fashion and sneakers. And this week, there are can't-miss drops from Scott and Drake: a heavily patterned Nike SB Dunk from the former, and a trio of bold Clark's Wallabee boots from the latter's October's Very Own line.

Even though his official partnership with Nike is less than three years old, Scott has proven himself an able wave-maker in the sneaker world. This is just the latest sneaker in Travis Scott's growing arsenal of signature kicks: both his baby-blue-colored Air Jordan 4s and earth-toned Air Jordan 1s sold out in a flash. The comeback of the Nike Dunk has slowly bubbled up over the past six months, so it's no accident that Scott chose the SB Dunk Low for his latest. This one gets the maximalist treatment, wrapped in clashing plaid and paisley patterns. Plus, there are plenty of other eye-catching details, like frizzy rope laces and contrasting trim.

October's Very Own (OVO) has been teaming up with Clarks for some time now, remixing the footwear brand's iconic silhouettes in bold Drake-approved colors. For the uninitiated: the Wallabee was originally championed by Wu-Tang Clan and has since found a loyal following in hip-hop and streetwear. (A grip of Supreme collaborations certainly haven’t hurt the Wallabee’s cool factor, either.) This collaboration offers the beloved style in bold shades of neon green, yellow, and orange, and a much more low-key black. The OVO owl can be found debossed at the heel of the boot's premium suede upper.

As long as rappers keep designing kicks that look this good, we have a feeling we'll be seeing plenty more of these hype-worthy collaborations in the future. And with spring less than a month away, a loud skate sneaker or bold low-cut boot makes for a worthy option to any closet.

Travis Scott x Nike SB Dunk Low is available February 29 via select Nike SB retailers.

October’s Very Own x Clarks Wallabee is available February 26 via October’s Very Own.
