Whitehorse man charged with drunk driving after crash injures passenger

A 30-year-old man in Whitehorse has been charged with impaired driving after crashing a vehicle carrying two passengers, one of them a four-year-old child.

A 25-year-old female passenger was taken to Whitehorse General Hospital and later medevaced to Vancouver. Police say the four-year-old passenger was reportedly unharmed.

The crash happened on Long Lake Road on Friday, shortly before 7 p.m.

Abraham Scott, 30, is facing charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm, impaired driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in one hundred millilitres of blood causing bodily harm, failing to comply with an undertaking, and obstructing a police officer.

Police say the matter is still under investigation.
