Driver escapes crash on Highway 97 with non-life threatening injuries

A driver escaped with non-life-threatening injuries after losing control of their vehicle and launching it off a guard rail on March 17th.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., a black Toyota Celica lost control and rolled over, coming to a rest upside down in the ditch near the intersection of Highway 97 near 86th Street in Fort St. John, according to RCMP.

However, an eyewitness says the driver of the Celica lost control and jumped a guard rail, soaring across the oncoming lane before tumbling to a stop on its roof on the side of the highway.

Corporal Alex Berube of the RCMP says the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Berube says alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
