Driver killed in Merced County rollover crash identified by authorities

A driver killed over the weekend in a Merced County rollover crash has been identified by the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office as 31-year-old Adam Solomon Diaz, believed to be from Madera, according to Deputy Alexandra Britton.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the crash, which occurred in the area of Highway 99 and Le Grand Road just after 4 a.m. Saturday. According to authorities, Diaz was driving a 2016 Kia Soul northbound on Highway 99 just north of Le Grand Road, when the vehicle traveled off the right shoulder of the roadway and rolled multiple times.

Authorities said Diaz was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Merced area CHP office at 209-356-6600.
