Driver of stolen vehicle slams into east Windsor business

Windsor police become impromptu firefighters after responding to family dispute

Windsor police are on the hunt for a man who stole a car and smashed into the wall of an east-end business Saturday night.

A witness to the crash told police the driver of the silver Pontiac Grand Prix cut him off and slammed into the building near the intersection of Ellrose Avenue and Wyandotte Street East around 8:45 p.m.

When police arrived, the engine was still running, both airbags were deployed, but none of the occupants was there. The witness saw the driver and two female passengers run from the car, according to police.

The man is described as white, 20 to 25 years old with a shaved head. He was wearing light coloured clothing and a baseball hat.

One of the female passengers was described as white, five foot eight and 20 to 25 years old. She had long, dark hair and was wearing a black sweater.
