Yahoo Movies Dune Part 2 release date delayed until 2024
Bad news for Dune fans as the second chapter in Denis Villeneuve adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name has been postponed until next year.
Originally slated for a November 2023 release, Dune: Part Two will now hit cinemas on March 15, 2024 (via Variety).
The news comes as SAG-AFTRA actors continue to strike to negotiate pay and other contractual conditions with the studios. As a result of the ongoing strikes, it is likely that the sizeable cast of Dune 2 wouldn't have been able to promote their movie on the press circuit if it had been released in November.

The studio revealed the announcement yesterday (August 24), and shared that another big-budget flick, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, has seen its original slot of March 14, shifted as a result of Dune: Part Two taking a March release date.
Initially set to be released on March 14 next year, the latest entry in the Monsterverse teases an epic creature battle arriving in cinemas on April 12, 2024.
Now one of the most anticipated films of next year, Dune: Part Two had left fans hopeful when its release date was moved up from November 18 to November 3, back in 2022.

It seems that cinemagoers will now have to wait a further four months before seeing the continuation of Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides's story unfold on the big screen.
Alongside Chalamet, next starring as the titular character in Wonka, Dune: Part Two marks the return of Rebecca Ferguson as Paul's mother Lady Jessica and Zendaya as warrior Chani.
Fellow cast members Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem will also reprise their roles. While Dune newcomers Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Austin Butler and Léa Seydoux join the ensemble for the second instalment.
Dune: Part Two is scheduled to be released in cinemas on March 15, 2024.
