Durham, Orange schools operating on a 2-hour delay Monday

Due to the potential for icy road conditions in the morning, Durham Public Schools and Orange County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Monday, Jan. 6.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools will open on-time on Monday.

Before-school programs will also operate on a two-hour delay, DPS announced.

Employees who are designated as essential personnel during inclement weather should report to work as directed by their supervisor, DPS said.

Meanwhile, the Durham school board will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Monday at the Fuller Building, Board Room, 511 Cleveland St., to discuss and consider acting on matters related transportation services.

There will be no public comments at this meeting, the school system says.
