Durham police investigating after man killed in weekend crash in eastern part of city

A Durham man was killed in a three-car crash on Holloway and North Adams streets Saturday, police said.

A Durham man was killed Saturday in a wreck involving multiple cars in the eastern part of the city, police said Monday.

Victor Castillo-Jarillo, 44, was driving west in a 2011 Nissan Frontier truck about 7:08 p.m. when he veered into oncoming traffic at Holloway and North Adams streets, according to a news release.

The Frontier struck a 2025 Honda Ridgeline truck driven by a Michael Binkley, 58, of Wake Forest head-on, then rotated counterclockwise.

The Frontier was then hit by the front end of a 2023 Ford F-150 truck driven by Juan Garcia-Gomez, 46, of Mebane, the release said.

Castillo-Jarillo was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the wreck, and speed and impairment are believed to have played a role in the crash, police said.
