Dwyane Wade’s reason for missing the Miami Heat’s game Wednesday night is one of the best.
Wade and Gabrielle Union, his wife, announced the birth of their first child together Thursday afternoon on their social accounts.
“We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that, our miracle baby, arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days,” the two wrote.

Union, 46, has struggled through years of infertility issues as she and Wade, 36, tried to have a child together. She had “eight or nine” miscarriages, the actress wrote in her 2017 book, and discovered this year she was unable to get pregnant due to a type of endometriosis.
Union and Wade married in August 2014 and raise two of his three sons as well as a nephew.
The newest member already has a timely gift waiting for her as dad finishes out his final NBA season.
