Mayor Greg Moore confirmed the four-alarm fire started in Martha's Bakery and Deli which is located in a strip mall in the 2200 block of McAllister Avenue, between Shaughnessy Street and Mary Hill Road.

"The fire started at one end of this building. There's five different businesses within this building and they're doing their best to contain it," said Moore. "It will be hard to tell the extent of the damage for a while."

Emergency calls came in just after 4 a.m. PT. Flames could be seen coming through the roof of the building. A Curves Fitness Centre is one of the many businesses that appears to have suffered heavy damage.
