East St. Louis man shot and killed, police say

An East St. Louis man was shot and killed on Saturday, Illinois State Police confirmed without providing many additional details.

Illinois State Police Zone 6 confirmed in a press release that they were requested to assist the East St. Louis Police Department in investigating a reported shooting in the 1300 block of North 15th Street.

A male victim was struck by gunfire and pronounced dead and the investigation remains active, the release stated. No additional information has been released.
