EastEnders has aired a shocking cliffhanger for Dean Wicks.

The villain has become surrounded by enemies since he conned his way into returning to Walford by secretly negotiating to become Cindy Beale's business partner.

Everything came to a head in Monday's (November 20) episode when Dean was last seen lying motionless after falling down the stairs at the Vic.

Earlier in the episode, Dean was irate when he came across the word "rapist" spraypainted across the window of the Beales' pie and mash shop on the day of its grand opening.

Dean immediately confronted Linda Carter and the Knights in the middle of the Square, warning that he would sue Linda for slander since he was technically acquitted in his off-screen trial.

This threat rattled George and Elaine, leading them to seek advice from local detective Jack Branning about whether they could lose the pub.

Linda reluctantly agreed to smooth things over by going to strike a truce with Dean. Ian and Cindy were shocked when their business partner refused Linda's attempts to smooth things over.

After the Beales warned Dean to take the olive branch for the sake of their business, the villain had yet another showdown with the Knights upstairs at the Vic.

This time, tensions exploded as George lunged angrily at Dean, causing the latter to fall down the stairs in a heap as the episode came to an end.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
