EastEnders turnaround as Max comforts Stacey tonight
EastEnders fans get a rare glimpse of Max Branning's softer side tonight (October 19) as he shows his support for Stacey Fowler.
Max (Jake Wood) has been totally consumed with revenge this year and has seemed to have no loyalty towards anyone, but we're about to see that there's still a genuine friendship where Stacey is concerned.
In tonight's episode, Stacey (Lacey Turner) struggles as her newborn daughter remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Stacey also loses her temper with her husband Martin when he suggests various names for the youngster, causing him to storm out in the heat of the moment.
As Martin gets comforted by his sister Michelle, there's a touching moment when Max pays a visit to Stacey and shares some kind words with her.
It's one of the first times we've seen Max with no hidden agenda or ulterior motive in months, showing how much he still cares about Stacey.
Of course, this is no overnight transformation as Max is still determined to get his enemy Jane Beale away from Walford and shows no signs of backing down on that front.
Despite that, we do know that Max will start to have second thoughts about his revenge next week. Could Stacey unlocking his human side be the moment that starts the ball rolling?
