eBay Names 'Love Island's' First-Ever Non-Fast Fashion Ambassador

eBay announced that it's set to be Love Island's first-ever non-fast fashion partnership, following an ambassador deal signed with ex-contestant Tasha Ghouri. The online marketplace is continuing its aim of changing the way we shop for clothes, with a dedicated focus on pre-loved fashion.

Typically, the end of the eight-week series results in the top three female contestants signing major brand deals with fast fashion retailers like Missguided and Pretty Little Thing, however, this partnership with eBay marks the first-ever time that the series has gone in a different direction, one that many viewers of the show have been waiting to see for quite some time.

Ghouri announced the news on her Instagram, saying that "Prior to going into Love Island I have always purchased secondhand for my wardrobe, so partnering with eBay really is a dream come true. I feel really passionately that we can all make little swaps to our wardrobes and our lives for the better and so I'm excited to join eBay on their mission to put secondhand fashion front and centre. Plus I'd like to think that over the last 8 weeks I have shown that pre-loved serves up amazing looks while bringing out my personality!"

eBay's head of fashion Jemma Tadd added that "Over the past 8 weeks, we've seen Islanders embrace pre-loved for the first time ever on mainstream TV, showing that simple additions or swaps to outfits can make all the difference - in so many ways."

The collaboration comes shortly after eBay joined forces with Love Island to become the series sponsor, another pre-loved fashion first. Hopefully, the partnership marks an ongoing step forward for the ITV show, which despite its popularity has raised multiple concerns about its less-than-positive influence in regards to unrealistic beauty standards, promotion of fast fashion and lack of diversity.
