Edmonton woman named as victim of B.C. plane crash

A 48-year-old Edmonton woman has been named as the victim of a single engine plane crash in British Columbia on Saturday.

Jane Yvonne Lavallee was a passenger in a Cessna 172S plane which crashed while trying to land on the airstrip at Crawford Bay, on the east shore of Kootenay Lake.

The plane went down on the Kokanee Springs Golf Course.

Lavallee was pulled out of the wreckage but she had already passed away.

The pilot sustained serious injuries.

The B.C. Coroners Service and Transportation Safety Board continue to investigate.
