Egypt appoints Brotherhood critic as new justice minister

CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt appointed judge Ahmed el-Zend as justice minister on Wednesday, the president's office said in a statement, after his predecessor resigned over statements that were deemed elitist. Zend, head of the influential Judge's Club which represents judges across the country, is known as a fierce critic of the banned Muslim Brotherhood group.
