Elderly man drowns in pool at Fresno home, police say. Officers jumped in 40 degree water

A man drowned Thursday evening at a home in Fresno.

Fresno Police Lt. Marcus Gray said officers responded to the area of Audubon Drive and Churchill Avenue just after 6 p.m. of reports of an elderly man who was in the pool not responding.

Officers arrived and jumped in the pool that was filled with 40 degree water in full uniform to save the man, Gray said.

CPR was performed on the man before he was taken to a local hospital.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers are still investigating the drowning and no signs of foul play are suspected, Gray said.
