Elderly woman dead after being struck by vehicle in north end
An elderly woman has died of her injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the city’s north end this afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in the Wilson Heights Boulevard and Reiner Road area.
The victim is in her 70s, paramedics said. She was found at the scene without vital signs and taken to a trauma centre, where she was declared dead.
Police closed the area to traffic to investigate. They did not say whether the driver of the vehicle is co-operating or whether any charges will be laid.
