Election day Monday!

On Monday, residents across the South Peace will head to the polls to decide their new municipal representation, school board trustees, senators, and referendum votes.

Beaverlodge will elect six councillors, and the candidates are:

Beaverlodge residents can vote on Monday at the community centre from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Amisk Court residents will be able to vote at Amisk Court from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The County of Grande Prairie residents will be voting for a councillor in Divisions 2, 4, 5, 8, and 9:

Advance voting will be available to all county residents on Oct. 16 at Evergreen Park, Sexsmith Civic Centre, and the Hythe Legion from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Division 6: Beaverlodge & District Senior Citizen’s Association and Hinton Trail Community Hall

Division 7: Hythe Legion and Demmitt Hall

Division 8: La Glace Arena, Hythe Legion, and Sexsmith Civic Centre

Division 9: Sexsmith Civic Centre and Teepee Creek Hall

On Monday, polls in Sexsmith will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sexsmith and Area Community Centre.

Wembley residents will head to the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum to vote from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Who can vote:

An eligible voter is at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen and a resident in Alberta.

If you are registered to vote at your current address, you do not have to show ID. If you need to update your registration, you must prove your ID and address, an Alberta driver’s license with the correct address.

If your ID does not have your current address, you can use two pieces of ID, and one must have your current address.
