Firefighters rescued an injured worker from a 92-foot water tower under construction in Indian Land Tuesday.
Crews from Indian Land Fire District, along with firefighters from Charlotte and Pineville N.C., used a rope system to lower the worker from the top of the tower, officials said. The worker had been caught in safety netting at the top of the tower before 5 p.m., Indian Land fire officials said on their Facebook page.
The tower on Harrisburg Road is south of the North Carolina state line in the panhandle of Lancaster County.
Officials had the person lowered to the ground after 6 p.m. The name of the worker and the extent of injuries has not been released.
