Emergency services battle Airport Fire as it burns more than 23,000 acres

Emergency services continued to tackle the Airport Fire in Orange County on Thursday, 12 September, as it burned more than 23,000 acres.

As of Friday, the blaze was 8 per cent contained and had scorched 23,494 acres.

Orange County Fire Authority said evacuation levels were been downgraded in both Orange and Riverside Counties, where the fire affected.

Road closures remained in place and resident-only access was permitted for Plano Trabuco Road at Joshua Drive and Plano Trabuco Road at Robinson Ranch Road.

Locals were urged to remain vigilant and be prepared if conditions changed.
