A large emergency service presence was called out to an incident along the Cornish coast on Thursday.

HM Coastguard said it was alerted to "someone in the water" off Porthmeor Beach in St Ives at about 18:30 BST and sent a local rescue team to the scene.

The coastguard said South Western Ambulance Service and Devon and Cornwall Police crews also attended the incident.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said the person managed to get out of the water and was passed onto paramedics for treatment.
