Emilia Clarke Reveals Why She's on Crutches

No, Emilia Clarke wasn’t bit in the leg by a dragon.

The Game of Thrones star has been photographed hobbling around the globe — using forearm crutches — while promoting her new movie, Terminator: Genisys. Her publicist was tight-lipped about the injury (we made multiple inquires) causing our imaginations to run wild. However, it turns out that it had nothing to do with Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal.

“I’ve got a stress fracture on my hip,” the 28-year-old British actress revealed on BBC’s The Radio 1 Breakfast Show With Nick Grimshaw on Thursday.

And the injury wasn’t an especially sexy one, Clarke said.

“I want to say it’s from Parkour or something — something really brilliant, like I’m trying to vault a wall, but in reality I just slipped,” she explained. “It’s really boring. But by the end of the press tour I’m going to come up with, like, the sickest story ever. It’s going to be pretty brilliant.”

Despite her injury, Clarke hasn’t scaled back in the fashion department. She’s continued to wear heels along with her designer frocks, including at the Terminator: Genisys premiere, where, luckily, she could steady herself on her muscular co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Another fun fact? The quirky star said has become so close to her crutches that she’s even given them names. “They’re called Will and Ben, just so you know,” Clarke said on the radio show.

Noted. Well, Will and Ben seem great and all, but we hope, for her sake, they don’t stick around too long.
