Emma Watson discusses HeForShe campaign with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa

Fresh from celebrating the two-year anniversary of the launch of her HeForShe campaign, Emma Watson headed to Ottawa on Wednesday (Sept. 28) to sit down with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for an inspiring chat about gender equality. The Harry Potter actress dropped by Parliament Hill ahead of tomorrow's One Young World Summit.

"It's so exciting for me to come and visit your parliament," said the 26-year-old, before applauding Justin's decision to enforce a gender-equal cabinet.

"Emma Watson is a champion for gender equality worldwide," tweeted the prime minister following their meeting. This is the second time in less than two weeks that the father of three has celebrated Emma's work. Justin made an appearance at the HeForShe Turns Two celebration in New York on Sept. 20, where the actress presented him with a pin for his work as an official champion of the campaign.

Speaking to dignitaries and special guests at the New York City Museum of Modern Art, Emma expressed her delight over the progress that has been made since she made her history making speech back in 2014.

"We've seen seismic shifts in culture recently," she said, adding, "I don't know if I would have believed you if you had told me two years ago before I made my HeForShe speech that we might have the first female President of the United States, a female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and possibly for the first time in history, a female UN Secretary General."
