(Wednesday at 7pm on ITV1)

Kyle's guilt in Al's murder case is becoming one of Emmerdale's worst-kept secrets, with Moira, Amy and Mack all aware that Cain is covering for his young son.

Matty seems likely to join that list when he becomes determined to find out why Amy and Moira have both fled to Belfast with little explanation. He senses that it's all tied up with the real reason for Al's death.

Despite warnings from Chas not to meddle, Matty pays a visit to Cain in prison and shares his suspicions that something isn't right.

No-nonsense Cain dismisses Matty's speculation and believes that he has done enough to throw his stepson off the track. Unfortunately, Matty can tell that Cain is lying and seems unlikely to let this drop.

Stephen fears that his house of cards could crumble when he spots Tim's mum Elaine approaching from afar. Wanting to avoid awkward questions, Stephen tries to scarper but falls from the vehicle.

The accident brings unwanted attention to Stephen, but before he knows it, he's spinning tall tales to Elaine to explain himself. The big question is whether Elaine will buy it – and whether her concern for Stephen could land her in his firing line in the long run.

Dot will get an on-screen funeral in a specially-extended episode next month, with familiar faces returning to Walford for the occasion.
