Eganville -- Enbridge Gas Inc. is expanding into the village from Cobden and as part of this, the company has donated $6,000 to two local organizations.
Bonnechere Valley Mayor Jennifer Murphy thanked Enbridge last week for the $3,000 donation to Fairfileds and $3,000 to the Eganville Food bank. She noted both organizations were delighted to receive the gift.
In reaching out to the Food Bank, the mayor said she was made aware of just how dire the need is at present. She said in 2021 in the first quarter the food bank saw two new users. During the first quarter of 2022, there were 22 new users. In 2021, the food bank spent $14,000 on food. This year, they have already spent $9,000 in the first quarter.
“The need for our food bank was great,” she said. “Thank you for your community engagement.”

“I’ve been working for the company for quite a long time and giving back to communities where we live and work is critical,” she said.
