The era of self-isolation has everyone—from teachers to chefs to celebrities—finding new and creative ways to do things virtually. Yesterday, on the second episode of John Krasinski’s Some Good News show, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of Hamilton rose to that challenge, coming together on Zoom to sing the hit show’s titular song for one young fan. In addition to the cast’s impressive virtual performance, viewers were captivated by something entirely nonmusical: cast member Daveed Diggs’s wallpaper.

“Like, yes I cried, but I also spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out where Daveed Diggs got that wallpaper,” proclaimed one Twitter user. Well, leave it to us to track down a good wallcovering. Diggs, who originated the joint role of Thomas Jefferson and the Marquis de Lafayette in the show, has selected a print from one of our favorite manufacturers, Brooklyn-based Flavor Paper. Bay Area Toile features celebrities from the San Francisco area incorporated into a classic toile pattern. The motif was designed by comedy group The Lonely Island in collaboration with Flavor Paper and artist Matt Ritchie.

“It’s a way to celebrate the Bay Area even when you no longer live there,” said Lonely Islander Jorma Taccone at the pattern’s release in 2015. “Matt created a beautiful hand-drawn toile that represents what it’s like to grow up in the Bay.” Find icons like Joe Montana, Angela Davis, and Alice Waters in the pattern, a riff on Flavor Paper’s Brooklyn Toile, which features legends like Notorious B.I.G. (and itself nods to Harlem Toile, the famous print by designer Sheila Bridges that juxtaposes black Harlem residents against a pattern originated in 1700s France).

The paper is perfect for Diggs, who grew up in Oakland, California, across the bay from San Francisco. Here’s to decorating with a personal touch!
