Entourage's Debi Mazar has admitted that she was "embarrassed" by her character's dialogue in the series.

The actress, who played publicist Shauna in the HBO show about four Hollywood boys livin' the good life, said that the role was "a lot of fun", but she wasn't too keen on the character's sweary nature.

"I was kind of, almost like embarrassed by my dialogue," Mazar told Entertainment Weekly, "because I curse, and I obviously have the ability to be a complete trash mouth, but some of the things I would say would completely make me blush."

She continued: "With TV, you don't know what they're going to write. I took a job to make money. I mean, [creator Doug Ellin] wrote a really strong character, but that set was very testosterone-driven and misogynistic."

The actress went on to explain how, when she was having a particularly difficult day on set, she would "just go into Shauna mode, and go 'You know what, f**k you bye'".

Mazar, who featured in Entourage for eight seasons as well as the movie, now stars in the Spanish series Arde Madrid, which is streaming on MHz Choice.

Entourage followed the life of a young film star and his rich mates who navigated the vapid world of entertainment in Los Angeles, along with the help of his trusty, but highly annoying agent.

The cast included Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven.
