San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has met his match, and, no, not on the court. ESPN sideline reporter and analyst Doris Burke left Popovich a little stunned after she shut down their in-game interview after just one question.
Popovich is notorious for one-word and one-line answers to reporters’ questions, which can leave some media members flustered. After Popovich answered Burke’s perfectly reasonable question of, “Difficult start, what did you see?” with, “Well, we didn’t score,” she just ran with it.
Her response: “I think it’s in my best interest, Mike, to leave it at that.”
And this one-question interview comes on the heels of another one during Game 1 of the Western Conference finals:
