Euphoria star has "no f**king idea what’s going on" with season 3

Hunter Schafer has said her return to hit HBO show Euphoria will be "tough".

The Hunger Games star appears in the teen drama as Jules Vaughn, but she's unsure where the status of season 3 stands amid delays.

Though filming is reportedly set to begin in 2025, Schafer has said she has "no f**king idea what is going on".

"You can ask literally all of the cast. The real tea is that a lot has happened," she said during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.

Schafer also reflected on the deaths of her co-star Angus Cloud and Euphoria producer Kevin Turen, who both died in 2023.

"I think everyone feels a certain sense of anticipation for if we are supposed to do season 3," she told host Alex Cooper. "Obviously I’m still coming to qualms about what’s happened and losing people that we really loved and were a part of this family and everything. If we do go back, that’s going to be tough."

"I think there’s a world in which we can channel that into making it a beautiful season 3 — if it is supposed to happen, but I think that shit really threw everyone for a loop."

Schafer next hits our screens alongside Dan Stevens in surreal horror film Cuckoo, directed by Tilman Singer.

Released in the UK on August 23, the film follows 17-year-old Gretchen (Schafer) who reluctantly leaves the US with her father Luis (Marton Csokas), stepmother Beth (Jessica Henwick), and mute half-sister Alma (Mila Lieu) to move to a remote resort in the German Alps.

When they arrive, Gretchen notices her father's boss Herr König (Stevens) has a strange interest in Alma, and soon a bizarre, sinister plot rooted in the lodge becomes clear.

"I fell in love with the Cuckoo and Tilman's world-building and the way he directs and everything," Schafer said in a recent interview with GLAAD. "I've been saying this, but like I would have played any character in this movie. I just wanted to be a part of it."

Euphoria airs on HBO in the US and on NOW and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
