Euro 2020 betting: Picks for Friday's two quarterfinal games

If you want to make some money, you should fade these picks. Here's our betting choices for the two quarterfinals on Friday. All odds via BetMGM.

Switzerland vs. Spain

Noon ET, ESPN

Switzerland (+475)

Spain (-155)

Regulation Tie (+270)

Over/under: 2.5 goals

We’re hoping the Swiss show the commitment to attacking that they did against France. Haris Seferovic scored the first goal of the game with his head from an aerial cross and Spain’s center backs showed an aerial vulnerability against Croatia. With Granit Xhaka playing some of his best soccer and Breel Embolo capable of dragging defenders out of position, it’s not going to be too much of a shock if Switzerland wins … though it’s hard to ignore the five goals Spain has scored in each of its last two games. We have to go with the favorite here.

Belgium vs. Italy

3 p.m. ET, ESPN

Belgium (+220)

Italy (+140)

Regulation Tie (+210)

Over/under: 2.5 goals

Belgium’s odds are at +220 because of the uncertainty surrounding Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne. Both players went off injured against Portugal and may not be available for Friday’s quarterfinal. If one or both are absent, that’s a huge problem for a Belgium team that relies on both for its midfield creativity. Romelu Lukaku has been one of the most feared strikers of the tournament but he needs someone to get him the ball. Italy could easily take him away without De Bruyne and Hazard on the pitch and also go after Belgium’s veteran centerback trio.

Official picks

Italy (+140)

Under 2.5 goals (-175)

Bold bet

Tied in the first half, Italy to win (+450)
