A 35-year-old Rosetown man is facing 14 charges of selling prohibited and restricted handguns, and semi-automatic rifles. David Laverne Cressman appeared in Saskatoon provincial court Friday. He returns to court on Nov. 30. The allegations span July to October of this year and all come from Rosetown. The community is 120 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon. The Cape Breton Regional Hospital will be shutting down its hot water for twelve hours on Friday until Saturday morning to replace old equipment — some as old as the hospital itself. The hot water shutdown starts at 8 p.m. Friday and lasts until 8 a.m. Saturday. The shutdown will be followed by a hot water boil advisory for staff that lasts until 10 a.m. Sunday, the Nova Scotia Health Authority said in a press release. Liberals have introduced a two-for-one piece of legislation that would provide sick leave to some workers, and bring the law down on anyone harassing health-care employees. The bill would provide 10 days of paid sick leave to federally regulated workers and create two new offences in the Criminal Code: one for anyone threatening a health-care worker and a second for anyone obstructing access to a health-care facility.
