Eva Marcille Claims Ex Kevin McCall Started Abusing Her While She Was Pregnant with Their Daughter

Eva Marcille is opening up about the abuse she allegedly endured at the hands of her ex Kevin McCall in wake of his latest arrest.

“It took me a lot of time to even be able to get up the courage to talk about it because it’s embarrassing,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 34, said on Thursday’s episode of The Rickey Smiley Show.

“Coming from where I come from and being as astute and courageous as I am, you always feel like, ‘it can never be me,'” Marcille said on air.

The model then shared that she and McCall, 33, were far from in love while they were together.

“It wasn’t a relationship that lasted long enough for me to even know him,” Marcille stated.

Marcille claims the rapper and producer became violent right around the time she became pregnant with their daughter Marley Rae, now 5.

“[The abuse] didn’t start for me until I was pregnant with Marley. And then about a month after having Marley, it didn’t stop; it got worse,” Marcille explained as tears rolled down her face. “And it got worse with her.”

Marcille says the moment she knew she had to end things with McCall was when “Marley was actually in my arms once. And I was like, ‘I can’t do this no more.”

McCall has not responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

In response to her earlier accusations, McCall slammed Marcille for being “obsessed” with him.

“It’s sad when she gotta keep using my name for her story line, if I was the husband I would be like ‘Real H— of Atlanta is you out of you mind, or is you still obsessed with your child’s Father? Why is he in our story line so much ain’t I enuff [sic] headline for our relationship?” McCall wrote.

Marcille’s interview comes after McCall was arrested on Monday and charged with domestic violence.

The rapper faces one felony count of injuring a spouse or cohabitant, The Atlanta Black Star reported.

McCall’s arrest stems from an incident that allegedly took place on Jan. 14, according to the outlet. No further details are known at this time.

According to jail records, the rapper and producer was released on Tuesday after posting a $75,000 bond.

McCall is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.

As for the alleged victim, Marcille says “I feel sorry for that girl… I feel bad for women who have to deal with that.”

“It’s actually not a laughable matter,” Marcille said to Smiley. “It’s something that makes you feel so little so you don’t want to talk about it, but it really sucks. I hope that they keep his ass in jail.”

On Wednesday, McCall shared a Bible verse, encouraging others to have a “good conscience.”

“Having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame,” 1 Peter 3:16 reads.

“Be kind and gentle to others and try your best not to always feel entitled to it being reciprocated back every time,” McCall wrote alongside the verse.

During a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marcille said obtained multiple restraining and protective orders against McCall.

“I still feel a sense of threat,” said the America’s Next Top Model alum, referring to McCall on the show as “Marley’s donor” only. “I have had to move five times, and I still feel a sense of uneasiness. He’s just so petty sometimes. I’ve walked outside of my balcony before and he’s been standing in the dark. And it is the scariest feeling ever.”

Marcille claimed that she even involved the FBI at one point. She now lives in more than one house to make it harder for the rapper to track her and Marley, 5, down, she said.

“Every time I move, he finds me,” Marcille said. “Because of that, I live in multiple places. Safety is a priority for me.”

Marcille and McCall split in 2015. Since their breakup, the rapper has been very vocal about his feelings towards Marcille.

In November 2017, McCall reportedly disowned his daughter and scrubbed all her pictures from his Instagram account. Recently, he fired back at Marcille’s claim that her new husband Michael Sterling is Marley’s true father.

Imma just sit this right here. No debate necessary,” he wrote, tweeting a photo of a Google search showing “McCall” as Marley’s last name.

He then claimed that he was the victim of “parental alienation,” writing, “I’m sorry for every one [sic] who had a s— father. Unfortunately I’m nothing like him, I’m just trying to set up ‘supervised visitation’ at a police station.”
