Jennifer Garner has a man in her life, folks! In case you haven’t heard, she's been seeing boyfriend John Miller on and off since April 2018 and according to some folks close to the couple, their 'ship is preeeeetty “different” from the 'ship between Jen's ex-husband Ben Affleck and his now-fiancé Jennifer Lopez. “[Jennifer] loves how little [John] cares for the limelight or the whole Hollywood scenester stuff," dished the insider to Us Weekly. "Very different from Ben and J. Lo’s relationship in that way. You’ll never see them ham it up for the cameras or fixate about what events to attend together, it’s just not their style.” Noted!
The source also added, “They’re happier being a regular, under-the-radar couple and don’t need anyone else’s validation to know they’re meant to be together. That’s not to say they’re taking digs against others, it’s just not them.” Okay, color me intrigued. John is a businessman who is currently the CEO of CaliBurger and its parent company, CaliGroup. From 2004 to 2010, however, he worked at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals as the VP of intellectual property. Oh, and he also received a degree from Stanford Law School making him a legit attorney too. NBD!
He was married to Caroline Campbell aka the “violinist to the stars”
Caroline is a boss in her own right. She's performed as a soloist alongside a ridiculously impressive groups, like the Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Indianapolis Symphony, and has also played with celebs Andrea Bocelli, Steven Tyler, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé, and David Foster. John and Caroline got married in 2005 and began their divorce in 2014, which was ultimately finalized in 2018.
He has two children
The entrepreneur shares two children with ex-wife Caroline, while Jen has three children with Ben: Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. John and Jen seem to bond over parenthood and are slowly getting used to the idea of blending their families!

Fast-forward to April 2022 and both of Jen and John's families met each other for the first time for the actor's 50th bday! “John’s kids finally met Jen’s kids," a source told Us Weekly of the event. "Lots of kids and family were invited, including John’s kids, his parents, his brother and his [brother’s] wife.” And thankfully, the first meeting "was casual and easy.” Phew!

Try nearly two years ago. Way back in October 2019, a source told Radar Online that “John’s parents had dinner at Jen’s house recently and met her for the first time." The source also mentioned that their 'ship, even then, was "getting more serious.” Umm, yeah, we second that statement.
He and Jennifer started dating in the midst of their respective divorce proceedings
Ben and Jen's divorce was officially finalized on October 5, 2018, and John's divorce from Caroline was fully finalized about a month later. So, needless to say, it was kiiiind of a shock when a few weeks later in October a source dished to US Weekly that Jen and John had been seeing each other for six months already. Oop! 👀
“Jen brings out the best in John, and he is the happiest he has probably ever been. It’s a loving, healthy relationship,” the source revealed.
John and Jen briefly broke up once
In August 2020, Jen and John briefly put their 'ship on pause because there were allegedly some commitment issues.
An insider told In Style that the two “split up before L.A. went into lockdown.” The exact reasoning? “He was ready for marriage and she just couldn’t commit,” revealed another source to Us Weekly at the time. The news also came on the heels of Jennifer being spotted enjoying a day at the beach with former Alias costar Bradley Cooper.
However, the break up didn't last for long! Less than a year after the two went their separate ways, it was confirmed in May 2021 that Jen and John were giving their relationship another shot. “Jen and John are back on,” a source confirmed to Us Weekly. “It started up a few weeks ago.”
He and Ben seem to have a chill relationship
Get this: Ben is v cool with the 'ship between Jen and John and you truly couldn't ask for more. “Jen having a boyfriend has been the best thing to happen to Ben and Jen in a long time," a source told Us Weekly in August 2019, adding that the relationship has made Ben "become a better parent.” And it gets better: “Ben has no problem with John," said the source. "[John’s daughters have had] playdates with Jen and Ben’s kids. Ben totally trusts him.” 🥺
Around November 2019, it was also said that Jen “knows she can rely on” her beau—even throughout Ben's sobriety journey. Just a month prior, TMZ reported that the Argo actor had relapsed and that John proved to be a “rock” for his girlfriend during the incident.

Friends of the couple could definitely see an engagement in the near future, according to what a source told Us Weekly. “Jen and John are serious," explained the source, "they are totally set on a long-term future together. They’ve taken their time to get this committed.”
John's relatively normal life outside of Hollywood has also been a maaaajor bonus for Jen. “It’s hard to remember Jen being this happy, and she definitely feels safe and secure with John, who’s unlike anyone else she’s ever dated," the source mused. "He’s hugely successful in his own right, of course, and she loves his mature and measured take on life. Being with someone as down-to-earth and calm as John is exactly what Jen needed in a partner.”
