With policymakers shifting their focus from the immediacy of the COVID-19 crisis to the post-pandemic recovery, there are many issues that governments will need to address in the coming months and years. Climate change has emerged as one of the key issues in the post-pandemic recovery, but there are many more that the government will need to focus on, including the state of Canada’s healthcare system.
On this episode of Editor’s Edition, Alicja Siekierska and the Public Policy Forum’s Sean Speer discuss what issues the government should prioritize as the country exits the COVID-19 pandemic. Speer also argues that since the issues that policymakers will have to deal with are so significant and substantive, that this next period after the pandemic will be “intense and tumultuous” for governments and leaders.
