Expect snarled roads this weekend over Honda Indy: Toronto police
Toronto police are warning drivers to be wary of delays as the 2024 Ontario Honda Indy gets underway Friday. And they're encouraging those hoping to attend the event to use public transit.
"Due to the extensive road closures, motorists can expect significant delays in the area and are strongly encouraged to plan alternate routes," police said in a new release earlier this week.
Strachan Avenue southbound from Fleet Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West, and Lake Shore Boulevard West from Strachan Avenue to British Columbia Drive will be closed until 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Adding to the expected traffic woes, lane reductions along the Gardiner Expressway also remain in effect due to the ongoing construction.
