Fake credit card operation busted, Calgary man charged

Police have charged a Calgary man in connection to a credit card and identification counterfeiting operation.

After a month-long investigation police searched a home on Mahogany Heath in the far southeast.

Officers found bundles of blank credit cards and blank ID cards, counterfeit credit cards and electronic scanning devices, police say.

They also found an electronic device used to roll back vehicle odometers.

Investigators think the devices were being used to produce fraudulent credit cards and IDs, which were then used in the commission of other crimes.

The 28-year-old suspect is charged with 11 offences including fraud and possession of stolen property.
