The Family of Carole Baskin’s Late Husband Spoke Out During Her Dancing With the Stars Debut

Carole Baskin, of Tiger King fame, made her debut on the new season of Dancing With the Stars on Monday night (September 14) with a choreographed number to “Eye of the Tiger.” Of course.

But not everybody is celebrating the reality star's time in the spotlight. In fact, the family of Baskin's late husband, Don Lewis, is using the opportunity to publicize their continued questions and concerns about his disappearance and death. If you can remember back to the early days of the pandemic, when we were all watching Tiger King, there are those (including Joe Exotic) who have accused Baskin of being involved with Lewis's death. (Lewis disappeared in 1997 and was later declared dead. Baskin has denied any involvement.)

His family aired a "Justice for Don Lewis" commercial during Baskin's DWTS appearance to make their point. Each of his daughters made a plea. "I'm Gale, one of Don Lewis's daughters. We are a real family and to us, he was daddy," Gale said. "I'm Lynda, one of Don Lewis's daughters, and we miss our dad," another added. "I'm Donna. I'm Don Lewis's oldest daughter. We need to know what happened to our father," Donna said, per People.

"Don Lewis mysteriously disappeared in 1997. His family deserves answers, they deserve justice. Do you know who did this or if Carole Baskin was involved?" the family's attorney, John M. Phillips, said. The family also asked for tips to be sent to 1-800-LITIGATE and is offering a $100,000 reward for information.

Like we said, Baskin has categorically denied any involvement. “I am not at all the person I was portrayed in Tiger King,” she told People earlier this month. “I am not the money grubbing, gold-digging, murderous person that they portrayed. I am the type of person who will come after any person who is abusing animals. I am relentless. I just won’t stop until I find some legal way to make it stop.”
