Family of missing Thurston County couple launch fundraiser to support search efforts

The family of Karen A. Koep and her husband, Davido — the couple who have been missing since Nov. 10 — have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support their children and the ongoing search effort.

Missing Thurston County couple believed dead; suspect in custody, police say

The couple went missing from their home in the Lake Forest neighborhood under suspicious circumstances, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. Their vehicle was also missing, but later was found at 67th Avenue Southeast at Rainier Road.

Fundraiser organizer Sharon Cannizzo launched the fundraiser Friday with a goal of raising $60,000 to support Koep and her husband’s two grown boys as they cover expenses of the search for their parents. As of 1 p.m. Nov. 17, $740 had been raised.

“Funds will be used to print fliers, organize and cover expenses for a search party, help keep utilities paid on their home and business as we continue our search and investigation into their disappearance, and support all ongoing efforts to locate our loved ones,” she wrote.

Koep is described as being 5-foot-4 and 115 pounds, and her husband is 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. Anyone with information about their disappearance is asked to contact detectives at detectives@co.thurston.wa.us or by calling the non-emergency dispatch line at 360-704-2740.
