Fans making jokes about Derek Carr in his New Orleans Saints’ debut against Titans
Derek Carr’s first play with the New Orleans Saints was a 25-yard pass to Michael Thomas to midfield.
Carr ended up driving the Saints down the field, but stalled after two incompletions to Thomas in the red zone, one that was at his feet at the Tennessee Titans’ 2-yard line.
The Saints settled for a field goal. The Saints won the game 16-15.
The red zone was an issue for Carr with the Raiders the past two seasons that brought a reminder from Raiders fans to Saints fans.
Same old Derek Carr can’t step up in the pocket

Typical Derek Carr...throws at receivers feet on third down, refuses to run with open field ahead, and red zone offense always settles for a field goal....not like I didn't warn you Saints fans

I won't spam y'all with NFL thoughts today, but please know Derek Carr in the red zone is still Derek Carr in the red zone. #NFLTwitter

In his second trip in the red zone, Carr couldn’t lead the Saints to a touchdown. Three straight incompletions led to another Saints field goal for a 6-6 tie in the second quarter.
Carr’s former Raiders teammates are even having their way against him. Arden Key and Denico Autry each had a split sack in the second quarter.
It was an ugly first half for Carr despite throwing for 142 yards. The Saints were driving, but stalled after Carr was sacked by Autry and then threw an interception down the seam to an open Amani Hooker of the Titans at Tennessee’s 12-yard line.
Carr, however, got help from the defense late in the third quarter when Paulson Adebo intercepted Ryan Tannehill’s pass at the Tennessee 33-yard line.
The Saints got back in the red zone and finally got a touchdown when Carr found an open Rashid Shaeed for a 19-yard score for a 16-9 lead.
Carr played his last NFL game on Dec. 24, when the Raiders lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 13-10.
He was benched in the final two Raiders games against the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Raiders released Carr in February before signing a contract with the Saints.
