Here’s who fans picked as the Stanislaus District’s football Player of the Week

Once again, when the Davis High football team needed a big performance, Izzy Sanchez was there to deliver. The quarterback helped the Spartans win their fourth straight game to finish the season, beating Ceres 20-13. In securing the win, Davis finished its season winning four of its final five games.

Against Ceres, the quarterback overcame an interception to pass for 54 yards and a touchdown and rush for 129 yards and one additional score. The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 11 Player of the Week.

Sanchez came in first, earning 45% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Escalon teammates Donovan Rozevink and Ryan Lewis, who finished second and third, respectively.
