FBI raids home of 'boxer,' YouTuber Jake Paul

Jake Paul, the controversial YouTuber and sometimes-boxer, had his mansion raided by the FBI on Wednesday.

The FBI would not comment on why Paul’s home was raided, as the affidavit in support of the search warrant had been sealed by a judge. An FBI spokesperson said in a statement that no arrests are planned.

According to TMZ, a cadre of around 20 FBI agents, some wearing tactical gear, executed the search warrant on Paul’s mansion in Calabasas, California. Aerial photos show agents carrying guns out of Paul’s home and loading them into official vehicles.

Paul’s lawyer told TMZ that the YouTuber is currently out of state.

This is far from the first time Paul has been involved with law enforcement. Prior to this, the most recent incident happened in June, when Paul was charged with criminal trespassing and unlawful assembly after he was seen on video looting a mall in Scottsdale, Arizona. In July, Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub publicly admonished him for hosting a party at his home without masks or social distancing.

Paul, 23, is scheduled to box former NBA guard Nate Robinson as the undercard for the Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. fight on Sept. 12. It’s possible this raid and any subsequent actions could scuttle Paul’s fight against Robinson, but with the FBI refusing to comment, it’s anyone’s guess what happens next.
