Hilary Duff is keeping things natural.

The 31-year-old star took to Instagram to share a sweet selfie as she breastfeeds her newborn daughter, Banks Violet Bair.

Duff and her boyfriend, musician Matthew Koma, welcomed their first child together on Oct. 25. The “Younger” actress also has a six-and-a-half year old son, Luca Cruz, with ex-husband, Mike Comrie.

In an interview with Dr. Elliot Berlin’s “Informed Pregnancy” podcast, Duff said she knew she wanted to forego having an epidural and a hospital delivery like she had with her son, Luca.

“It happened after I got pregnant but [while I was still] in my first trimester,” she said. “I just started thinking that I wanted a different experience. I’m older now – I love motherhood more than anything. I never thought it could be this way. I never thought I could be so happy and so fulfilled.”

The star revealed that her boyfriend was supportive of the idea after watching the documentary “The Business of Being Born.”

“He was amazing,” Duff said. “He had some questions – he was like ‘Let me go do some research but I support you.'”

In a follow-up interview after delivery, Duff said when she went into labour in the middle of the night she spent time walking and cleaning her house waiting for her midwives and doula to arrive.

Duff’s sister Haylie and her mom Susan arrived to take care of Luca while the actress endured contractions with her boyfriend, who she calls “amazing and calm,” by her side.

The star cried “tears of joy” when she was told she was ready to push and gave birth to her daughter in a birthing tub.

“When I have my mind set on something – I want it,” Duff told Berlin. “I’m headstrong.”

The star revealed she followed the trend of eating her placenta, having her midwives make her a smoothie with “lots and lots of berries.”

Duff admits she was scared to deliver naturally, but says she would “totally” do it again. “It was so scary but afterwards I felt so badass,” she said.
