Girl killed in Brampton hit and run ID'd as 16-year-old Dianna Manan

Police in Peel Region have identified the victim of a fatal hit and run in Brampton early Sunday as 16-year-old Dianna Manan.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in the area of Queen Street and Cherrycrest Drive, near The Gore Road at about 12:20 a.m.

Police say the teen was critically injured in the crash and found lying in the roadway by a motorist. Investigators say the driver then fled the area without stopping to help the victim. 

Manan was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.

Police are now urging the driver to consult with a lawyer and come forward to police.

Anyone who has any information or security camera video that may have captured the collision or an image of the vehicle is urged to call investigators.
