'Festa Italiana' is returning to Timmins after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. Organized by The Porcupine Dante Club, the popular party runs this Friday to Sunday.

An official flag-raising was held today at 11:00 a.m.

The three-day event will take place at the Dante Club at 162 Spruce Street. Organizers are not sure how big the crowds will get.

"Hard to predict the numbers as we had to put the event on hold for two years," said Dominic Flaminio, the club's manager.

Here's the line-up for the festival, which will feature live entertainment, urban market vendors, children's activities and a beer garden:

• Friday July 22 — Pizza Party in the parking lot with some entertainment from 6:00 p.m. until midnight, including live music featuring Sibalj.

• Saturday July 23 — Gala event celebrating 70 years as an Italian Club, including an authentic Italian dinner with live entertainment by Andrea Romolo.

• Sunday July 24 — Festa Italiana, an afternoon street party with entertainment, independent vendors, and of course, Italian food served by the Porcupine Dante Club.
