Is there anything Reese Witherspoon can’t do?

Not only is she an award-winning actress, but the Southern gal is a popular clothing designer, best-selling author, and amazing mama to three kids. Much like Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods, Reese isn’t afraid of a challenge—so she’s adding another impressive accomplishment to her (pink and scented?) resumé.

According to Deadline, the hardest working lady in Hollywood is set to produce a film adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing. The murder mystery book by Delia Owens is now a New York Times bestseller and Amazon’s most sold fiction book of 2019.

If you’re not familiar with the page-turner, here’s a quick catch-up. Set in rural North Carolina during the late 1960s, the novel tells the story of a young girl named Kya who has lived alone in the area’s marsh for years.

But her peaceful life is shattered when a local boy turns up dead (gasp!) and the townspeople accuse the mysterious “Marsh Girl” of being behind it, thrusting Kya into the spotlight. Fair warning, you won’t want the story to end!

The film’s full cast has not yet been announced, but we do know who will play Kya. Actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, who’s best known for her role in the popular series Normal People, has landed the lead role!

Now, we just need to know one more thing: Will Reese herself take on an acting part in the movie? Let’s hope so!
