Fine given after drug cannabis drug bust

A man who started up a weed delivery business in Sarnia has been fined $3,500.

An investigation began in June 2020 to a business which operated out of a residence on Queen Street in Sarnia. Undercover officers ordered cannabis from the business three times and a 37 year-old Thorald man, John Min, made the delivery twice.

Sarnia court recently heard police drug bust of BC Budz on Wheels, an illegal online cannabis enterprise in Sarnia, netted 23 kilograms of cannabis with a street value of $301,000.

Min turned himself into police soon after to face charges. He pled guilty to possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling it on recently in Sarnia court and received a $3,500 fine.

Justice Deborah Austin said this clearly justifies a jail sentence but since he has no criminal record, has been cooperative with police, now has legal employment and has made a guilty plea, a $3,500 fine is appropriate. He is now employed as a manager of a restaurant.

“I am confident you have left this kind of activity behind you,” said Austin to Min. He is also not to have any weapons for 10 years.
